happy new year ppl!
i guess my new year has been the same?visiting and all. as usual, i feel that chinese new year is becoming less busy and热闹。my family has been visiting less? the excitement during chinese new year when i was younger has been on the decrease and some traditions slacken.
when i was younger, all of us had to wear red as a symbol of luck, and everything on us has to be new. as i grew up, these "rules" were.. how should i put it? less obeyed?
i didnt wear all new clothes exactly at least my bra wasnt.( i tink the main reason for this is becuz i was too lazy to shop for any ;p)
i was not red.lol. my cuz too. haha. she even wore black the next day. with a reason of cuz. ( she was wearing a new red bra and undies. and wearing white will make her transparent? lol. not tat she has much to show anw..haha.)
besides wads new. nj always hav a way of torturing ppl. lol. im studying chem over cny.. and makin vdae present..

however, this year there is something that intrigues me and set me thinking
red packets. to all those ppl whom i hav asked abt ur over night wealth, sorry if i hav offender u in any way:)
giving out and receiving have always been a symbol of luck for the chinese.
it is the norm and of cuz hu would refuse more money to spend.
but have u wondered the thought behind this simple practice?
for the giver, how much is the right amount to put in a red packet?
as for the receiver, is it reali a good thing to receive?

what defines how much that goes in a red packet?
your wealth? your status? your relationship with the receiver?

the receiver.
from my point of view. as i receive, my parents are giving.
thus at the end of the day i m always tinkin if they are losing money badly..
therefore i would appreciate it if the money tats go into e packet is unified. but at the same time. this will kill the excitement of every children when opening the packet..
